Editor's Review
Let's cut the fluff—Red Ball 3 is a genuine test of platforming skills, not a hand-holding stroll through feel-good scenery. I rolled through the first few levels, and the physics immediately demanded respect. One mistimed jump over a bottomless pit and you're back to the checkpoint, staring at that gap like it personally wronged you.

Arcade, jumping games, and platformer fans, we need your help! A Red Ball is lost without your sharp wit, lightning-fast reflexes, and excellent skills!
Pink, the love of his life, was kidnapped through force and trickery by an old enemy - the treacherous Black Ball! The dangerous path to our hero's beloved lies through green valleys and ravines, secret caves and rocky rifts, and deserts and volcanoes.
Tireless searching for optimal routes through levels, jumps over bottomless pits, trolley rides and lifts, helicopter flights, and roller coaster races lie ahead. Roll along as a rosy little orb, leap as a bouncy ball, burst as a balloon, and plummet like a rock before starting all over again.
A special prize awaits those heroes that successfully finish their journey through all 20 levels - a chance to choose a new skin! Neat, right?
2D physics platformer
Fans of the 2D platformer genre will appreciate the classic mechanics and balanced physics of Red Ball 3: 3-button controls, object movement, traversal on moving platforms, hidden tunnels, searches for secrets, star collection, and an endless jumping quest in the name of love.
Reflex test
Don't be fooled by the simple art style and minimalistic visuals: the game will prove to be a challenge and give your mind a workout, driving you to wander the platform levels countless times to find the best way to solve all the puzzles, swapping to absolute reflex action and muscle memory, without which you'll never keep up with calculating the correct speed, jump force, and inertia.
For all ages
A short cut-scene with a love story at the start of the game, a cheerful wanderer as a hero that looks a bit like an overgrown vegetable and is literally always on the move, simple visuals, a vibrant soundtrack - these are all things that will appeal to both children and adults.
Red Ball 3 Tips
Get used to the roll momentum first. This isn’t a standard run-and-jump platformer — the ball builds speed as it rolls, and takes a second to slow down. Don’t jam the direction button full speed right up to a gap, or you’ll overshoot and fall in. Ease into movements until you get a feel for the weight.
Look before you leap, especially on new levels. A lot of stages are built around timing traps and hidden switches, not pure reaction speed. Pause for a second to scan what’s ahead instead of blasting forward full speed. You’ll die way less often.
Don’t stress about 100% collection on your first run. There are hidden stars and secret areas tucked into most levels, but you can always come back later. Beat the main path first, then go back to hunt for extras once you know the layout.
Use slopes to your advantage. Rolling down a ramp builds up enough speed to clear way longer jumps than a standard standing leap. Most hidden shortcuts and secret areas use this trick, so experiment with momentum instead of only jumping from flat ground.
It’s not for everyone, obviously. It’s a very traditional, by-the-books take on the 2D platformer. If you’ve played any earlier Red Ball titles, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting with zero big surprises or fresh twists. The later levels get pretty tough, and there’s no casual difficulty toggle to dial things back. It’s also strictly a single-player level-based experience; no leaderboards, no endless modes, no extra frills to keep you busy once you beat the main campaign.
