0.51.4 Android 6.0+

Editor's Review

Playing god feels disturbingly satisfying. I spawned a small island, dropped a few elves and dwarves, and watched them build houses and start wars within minutes. Then I dropped an atomic bomb on their capital just to see what happened. The civilization collapsed, and I felt a little bad—but not bad enough to stop.

worldbox Tips

If you’re booting it up for the first time, follow these to avoid wasting time on dead, broken worlds:

Start small. Don’t go wild building a massive continent first. Carve out one medium-sized island, cover it in forest and fresh water, then drop one single race to start. Too many factions too early just devolves into instant chaos before you even learn the controls.

Learn the two tool buckets first: creation and destruction. Creation tools handle terrain, plants, animals and civilizations; destruction tools cover lightning, meteors, plagues and all the fun chaos stuff. You’ll swap between these nonstop, so get familiar with the bottom menu layout fast.

Crank the speed up early. The game runs pretty slow by default in the early stages. Bump up the game speed once your first village is up and running — you’ll see kingdoms grow and wars break out way faster instead of staring at slow, boring expansion.

Save often. Trust me, it’s way too easy to accidentally nuke your favorite world with a mis-tapped meteor. Get in the habit of saving your map every 10 or 15 minutes, especially before you start messing around with big destructive powers.

There’s way more to mess with once you get past the basics. You can spawn dragons, UFOs, zombie outbreaks and even giant monsters to shake up established empires. You can tweak world rules too — turn off hunger, disable war entirely, or crank up reproduction speed to run all kinds of dumb experiments. It works fully offline too, which is a huge win for mobile play.

The free version gives you all the core tools to get the full experience, with a one-time premium upgrade unlocking extra creatures, advanced disasters and deeper customization. No predatory microtransaction grind here, just a straightforward free tier and one single optional purchase.
